Marketing for Window Cleaning Companies

November 19th, 2008

There is no doubt whatsoever that about the easiest business to start for someone with little or no upfront capital is a window washing service. But have you ever considered once you start this business how you are going to go out and get customers? How are you going to market this business and what types of advertising will do?

What types of customers will pay the best and indeed which types of customers will pay you on time? How much should you charge and what about competition? All these are good questions indeed and so perhaps I should explain to you how to market a window cleaning firm.

First you need to decide your market mix and I would say it is best to start out with 25% Business and 75% residential or personal customers. Next I would suggest if you are just starting out to talk to realtors first and Homeowners Associations. You business clientele should be small businesses where the owner is usually present to make sure at the end of the month you can hand them an invoice and they can cut you a check.

For other corporate clients like bank branches and such, wait until you build up your reserves, as they may pay you 90-120 days in the rears meaning you will be cleaning for 304 months before you even get paid for the first month. Consider these marketing tips for your window cleaning service in 2006.

Proper Cleaning Tips for Your Levolor Blinds

November 18th, 2008

Blinds are the most used shading device at home. It is very famous for its easy mechanism and easy to clean features. Blinds are composed of thin sheets of metal, wood or vinyl that are put together by string. The sheets or sometimes called as vanes can be opened or closed with a single turn of a rod attached to the upper bar. Blinds can also be pulled up to allow more light to pass through.

Levolor blinds are commonly made up of wood, vinyl and wood. They also have blinds that use cloth instead of any material. This blind uses the roman folding style while the other blinds use the traditional pull-up folding style.

Levolon has individual cleaning suggestions to be done for every blind type. The cleaning suggestion depends on the material used for the blind. Check out for the following for the cleaning tips.

For Premium Hardwood:

The blinds made up of hard wood can look best when cleaned always by means of wiping it with a dusting mitt, a soft cloth or a brush that is commonly attached to a vacuum cleaner. Blinds can easily accumulate dust especially when windows are often open.

When cleaning premium hardwood blinds, you do not need to bring them down. You may do the cleaning while the blind is hanging in its place. However, if you cannot fully clean it while it is hanged, you may bring it down to clean it. Just take note that removing the blinds would require a little extra effort.

When cleaning, tilt the slat a little to clean its top surfaces.

Never use any liquid cleaner even water. Premium hardwood blinds maybe damaged by using such cleaning agents.

For Natural Shades:

You can clean natural shades by constantly vacuuming it with a brush. Cloth is major dust accumulator and dust can not be easily removed by stroking a brush in it. Vacuum are best solution for that.

Use water in cleaning only if necessary. Cleaning agents may lose the color of the shade or even damage it.

Cellular shades can be cleaned with water. However, the water must be lukewarm and is used with a sponge.

For Aluminum Blinds:

You can use water in cleaning levolor aluminum blinds. Just make sure that the water is not mixed with concentrated cleaning agents that may cause shrinkage or color damage.

Like wood blinds, you can also clean it whether hanged or not.

Early Spring Cleaning

November 17th, 2008

Has anyone noticed how fast 2004 is going? Hey, we are in
December already. I really like December not only because people
are nicer to each other and all the pretty decorations are around,
but people stop and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.

Did you get that gift you wanted last year from your husband or
wife or are you wishing for it again this year? I encourage you
to go for it and I also want to invite you to accept a FREE gift
that is greater than any gift you can imagine. That gift is to
accept Jesus into your home and most importantly into your life
this Christmas. Make it a personal gift. You do not have to go shopping for it, you do not have to wish or beg for it, just
simply ask and it will be given to you.

In return for the gift of inviting Jesus to dine with you and live
in you, do some early spring cleaning. Think of all the things
that are worrying you and getting you down. Give them to Jesus,
he will gladly accept them. Most importantly tell him thank you
for taking them from you. Do not worry that he can’t handle them,
he can handle truck loads of worry.

Give Jesus your bad habits and all those little things that we
call sins. Tell him all about them. Jesus will listen and there’s
no bad habit or sin he can’t fix. As a matter of fact the price
for our sins has already been paid. Once we repent, we are
forgiven. Look, more early spring cleaning finished.
Don’t worry Jesus can handle everything and help us clean up our
acts. He really wants to do this for us.

Is there someone you’re not speaking to or can’t get along with?
Tell Jesus your problems. He’s willing to listen and he really
does care. He will help you make amends. If we just give it
all to Jesus this Christmas and every day of our lives, by spring
we might just need to bring out the dust cloth because things will
be so much cleaner and lighter. There will be joy instead of sadness
and a peacefulness within that is sometimes hard to explain.

Please, early spring clean and give it all to Jesus each and every
day.
